EK-TON
EK-TON takes its name from the Greek expression Ek ton enonton (Ἐκ τῶν ἐνόντων): “from what is available.” A minimal yet powerful concept that defines the project’s essence—music created exclusively from what is at hand. Their live set is entirely performed in real time—no loops, no sequencers—using a kit of self-built instruments made from recycled materials. The project merges Catanuto’s electroacoustic and electronic research (NeOanderthal) with Papia’s acoustic experimentation and sonic reuse (Orquesta Reusonica), bridging techno, minimal dub, industrial and ambient with reimagined world music traditions. Both artists bring extensive experience in composition, sound design, ecological art, and creative reuse. EK-TON delivers a groovy, hypnotic performance—both sonically immersive and visually captivating—where it seems almost unbelievable that such a rich spectrum of sound is produced by just four hands and a collection of unusual, reclaimed objects.
