Versnijden van Pentomino's
Odette De Meulemeester introduces you to pentominoes: puzzle pieces made up of five squares. Find out during her talk what surprising shapes you can create with them!
During this talk, you’ll discover what a pentomino is. We’ll be cutting these pentominoes (one, two, four…) to form a square and a triangle. It helps if you’re familiar with the Pythagorean theorem and square roots to understand the explanation. You’ll be given puzzles during the talk which you can take home afterwards. A set of pentominoes is cut into a square by shifting them around. Cubes are covered with either half a set or a full set of pentominoes.
