Everything is still here
The work explores a fictional nostalgia for the year 2026, imagining our present as a distant, almost forgotten past. Drawing on research into internet aesthetics such as dreamcore, weirdcore and nostalgiacore, it transforms everyday images into dreamlike memories. Through visual distortions and an intimate voice-over, the video questions how digital images shape, distort and replace our memories, creating nostalgia for a time we haven't even left yet.
The work will be presented as a single-channel video installation, displayed on a screen and played continuously on a loop. Sound will be experienced through headphones connected to the screen, creating an individual and intimate viewing experience. This setup allows visitors to temporarily withdraw from the surrounding festival environment and immerse themselves in the images and voice-over. The video does not require a fixed starting point. Visitors can enter the work at any moment and, if they wish, experience it through multiple cycles.
