Van Riemann tot Riemann: muziek op een donut
From Harry Potter and Star Wars to a doughnut full of music: join us on a surprising journey through notes, chords and maths, with live piano!
The brothers Ivan and Peter De Boi link Hugo Riemann’s music theory with Bernhard Riemann’s geometry. Two men with the same name, but not brothers. With live piano and recognisable film music, we discover the Tonnetz: a musical map that we roll up into a doughnut. Notes and chords find their place on it, and chord progressions become routes. The audience chooses the notes, and the pianist builds on them. Children are welcome to play a note too!
