ReMakerSpace (by De Creatieve STEM)
What happens when you bring a makerspace into a festival? Throughout Friday and Saturday, the ReMakerSpace of De Creatieve STEM vzw is open to the public. Drop by, get curious and discover what you can make with machines and materials you might find in a makerspace. Expect 3D printers, laser cutters, sublimation and embroidery machines, needle felting, sewing and overlock machines, cutting plotters, tufting tools and heat presses — and plenty of opportunities to experiment. The space combines an open workshop area with a range of digital and textile making tools. During the festival, specific workshops will take place here, but you can also explore and MAKE with the machines, techniques and materials between activities. One of the ongoing experiments comes from Selenia (IT), who works with biomaterials and will be exploring how leftover tufting materials can be transformed into something new. So don't just think of this as a workshop space — come by, have a look, ask questions and see experiments happening live. And this doesn't have to stop when the festival ends. Ghent has a network of makerspaces, each with its own machines, expertise and community. ReMakerSpace is organised by De Creatieve STEM, and our own Ingegno Maker Space has an OPEN LAB in Drongen where you can continue making, learning and experimenting after Mutation. Discover the makerspaces in Ghent and find a place to keep making. Come see. Come make. Come tinker.
