What can we make from biological materials and everyday ingredients? In this hands-on workshop, participants get an introduction to biofabrication and explore different biomaterials through simple experiments. We look at how materials such as bioplastics and mycelium can be made, shaped and tested, using accessible tools and open-source recipes. The focus will be on learning by doing: experimenting with recipes, comparing materials and discovering what happens when you change ingredients, processes or conditions. Participants also get practical inspiration and methods they can take back to their own makerspace, workshop or classroom. No prior knowledge is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to experiment. For: makers, educators, artists, makerspace and library facilitators, and anyone curious about biomaterials.
